Always try to be aware of how much you're telling the reader. Is it enough? Is it too much? Are you feeding them just the right amount, or are you overwhelming them with unnecessary detail? If in doubt, just ask yourself: "Why do they need to know this?"

The Lost Poetry Club is a podcast celebrating fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. Most roles are short and fun! This is currently an unpaid opportunity, but you will be credited as a voice actor. You must be able to record at home.

'Cafe Melancholia': In a cafe that drifts through time, a cast of clones reckons with the reality of life and death forever within its walls.

Current open roles:

Grigory: Male. 30s. Supporting role. Russian accent. A stoic clone created by the cafe who becomes disillusioned by the role.

Justina: Female. 20s-30s. Supporting role. Asian descent with a German accent. A front of house clone feeling the pressure to get things right.

Brianna: Female. 20s - 30s. Supporting role. London accent - but open to UK accents generally.

Like Ben, her boyfriend (and protagonist), along with the rest of the crew, she is a clone created by the Café. Vibrant and endlessly optimistic, she confronts her cruel reality with grace, though it can’t save her from a tragic end.

A common phrase gets thrown around in voice over that "auditioning IS the job" 🤔

I partially disagree.

It's part of the job, but it's really only a small part. I'm a full time voice actor, and I really only spend maybe 10% of my work time in the booth.
