NOTE: Leavitt says Trump will "stop by for his routine yearly check up."

But…Trump had his annual check up already. 5 months ago. On April 11.

New — White House says Donald Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday.
"On Friday morning, President Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center for a planned meeting and remarks with the troops. While there, President Trump will stop by for his routine yearly check up. He will then return to the White House. President Trump is considering going to the Middle East shortly thereafter." - White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt

If you're a California voter, please vote YES ON 50 and send that ballot back ASAP so the volunteers don't waste any time on you. And maybe volunteer if you have the time.

Sweet Californians, send those ballots back ASAP, so the volunteers don't need to bother with you.

Now, we’re taking this momentum into the general — because our communities deserve a representative who fights for us, not corporate donors.

Let’s finish the job. 🗳️

holy shit this is so good and so spot-on
This is the glass cliff to end all glass cliffs. You're Marissa Mayer at Yahoo without the Googler street cred. You're Nancy Dubuc at Vice without the string of hit TV shows. You're Linda Yaccarino at Twitter without the advertiser relationships. You have been hired as a sop to a Trump administration that is actively hostile to the actual free press, and you will be made to oversee wave after wave of layoffs until you quit or get fired and the entire news division is shut down in a final spasm of cost-cutting after the next inescapable media merger.

Chicago alderperson: I went to the hospital and I asked the ICE agents if they had a signed warrant for the individual they were trying to detain inside the ER. No one was harassing the ICE agents. I was handcuffed and shoved twice for simply exercising my right to advocate for my constituents.

While checking the bills Newsom recently signed, I noticed he signed #AB5 on Friday.

No, not the gig worker bill--the AB-5 from this session.

The law speeds up CA's ballot counting, requiring completion in 2 weeks.

The days of waiting forever for CA election results may finally be over! #capoli

Reminder that @governor.ca.gov is reportedly considering vetoing SB79, the best housing bill to clear the CA legislature in decades.

It would be a *disaster*, substantively & for Newsom's political future. Really hope he doesn't self-immolate.

Tell him!

🚨🚨🚨⬇️⬇️⬇️ Tell Newsom to sign SB79, to allow housing along transit.

Literally took me 10 seconds.

If you don't like telephones, you can leave a digital comment in the link below.

Active Bill -> SB79 -> Please sign SB79.

CA has one of the most accessible and secure voting systems in the country, and with the @governor.ca.gov signature on my bill AB 5, we continue to build upon this success.

I am proud to author this new law to set clear and achievable deadlines & provide all voters with more faith in our elections.

This is fantastic news! No election month in CA anymore.

Wish members of both parties would get together on common sense fixes like this more often.

So welcome. One of the biggest unknowns for me post-election when calculating the national turnout rate is figuring out California’s turnout

A final thing worth noting: #AB5 goes into effect on January 1, 2026, which means it won't apply for the #Prop50 election in a few weeks.

Hopefully, that election won't be close enough for us to mind a long ballot counting process. #CApoli

Black people in Chicago had their apartment building raided in the middle of the night, were detained for hours, and had their Fourth Amendment rights violated during an ICE operation that had nothing to do with them. Nah, they are not thrilled.

Stephen Miller: "The Black people in Chicago are thrilled that we're getting the illegal aliens out of their communities who are stealing their housing, jobs, and resources."

That's too bad. I think it would be worthwhile for a state to try it out (again, while also increasing reimbursements to make it work well, and working out any other challenges).

Wasn’t Nevada at one point considering a Medicaid for All single-payer option, too? What happened to that?

The biggest challenge I see to such big Medicaid expansion plans is they’d require an increase in reimbursement rates to get more doctors to take Medicaid. That of course would increase costs.

DOJ: CA NG is already federalized

Judge: You are an officer of the court. Do you think this is an appropriate way to deal with my order? Appropriate way of dealing with ruling you disagree with?

DOJ: Well, I'm not a policy maker

Judge: You're a lawyer
