Picking up your car from the bar the next morning isn’t a walk of shame—it’s a badge of honor. It means you made the smart call, got home safely, and kept the roads safer for everyone. Celebrate your choice, maybe with a cup of coffee.

So I'm 48. Being a grownup should be easier.

Our friends invited us to a Christmas party, & we showed up first. I found out that they'd met my former manager, who I'm still mentally working through the shit she put me through.

Y'all, I got through it. That was hard, but I guess that's growing.

I had a really strange conversation with a coworker the other day. I realized that the GOP has managed to convince even moderate Democrats that there is a "far left" component of the Democratic party that is dictating the direction of the party, when nothing could be further from the truth.

This is what seasoned diplomats call a "WTAF moment."

Trump just declared that "For the theft of our Assets, and many other reasons, including Terrorism, Drug Smuggling, and Human Trafficking, the Venezuelan Regime has been designated a FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATION..."

What assets?

I am an atheist.

However, though we may not agree on the nature of the universe, I don't hate you.

Most people of every faith are decent people who just want to live, eat, love, marry, maybe have kids, and live their lives in peace.

I do not support Islamophobia OR antisemitism.

You know, when I get critical of democrats, the blue no matter who liberals get mad at me, because they claim it got us nazis. Nope. That was the democrats.

Can anyone speak to whether or not ranked choice voting has had an impact on Maine's state politics? I'd love to see more of it, but I'm still not entirely convinced that it makes a real change.

@gabrielurbina.com okay, I gotta know... in episode 6, was there at all in any way a reference to the late 90s-early teens band Ludo from St Louis? Could be a coincidence, but... anyhow

When Republicans (or let's be real, democrats) say they aren't racist, we should remember the Black Panther Party. They supported education, self determination, and employment for black communities. They armed themselves for self defense. Aren't these GOP values?

Our country called them terrorists.

Why is this terrifying?
Because for decades, IQ47 has refused to admit the Central Park 5 are innocent, even when they were proven innocent in a court of law.

He’s never been grounded in facts, only by his feelings, which we all know are steeped in hatred.

I want to point out that there are still folks living today in the US who were never issued birth certificates. A friend's mother, who grew up as a black woman in the Jim Crow south, is no longer with us but never had one. There are other folks still alive who grew up in similar circumstances.

I don't think people are really processing the fact that the sitting U.S. President and his team — and maybe the Supreme Court — and maybe half the Congress — want to force us to accept that we should obey the President and not the Constitution.

I don't know what news would be bigger than that.

The gerrymandering debates, quite rightfully, have stirred up lots of talks about fairness.

As a Californian who supported our gerrymandering, I want to support states creating the following law: we pledge to stop gerrymandering when every state does the same.

It's the only way we get fairness.

The Democratic Party's formula for the last 50 years has been "Let's be friendly with extreme wealth and maybe we can also get modest policy wins sometimes." The last 10 years and this year in particular should be conclusive proof of how badly this has failed. But we're stuck with it anyway

Does anyone know of a music streaming service that pays artists fairly? I'd like to ditch spotify. Bandcamp is great and all, but it doesn't do streaming, and I want to be able to hear new music without first buying it.
