Commissioning art is such a thrill! I love doing it, but I haven't been able to in a while, because I can barely cover basic necessities as is.

But like you said, we don't have real AIs. We don't have sentient or sapient artificial beings. We have content reshufflers, next-word-guessers and plagiarism machines, and all of those can all go die in a fire.

I've thought a lot about this as well, and I'm exactly in the same position. One of First Light's main characters is an AI, and the narrative fully supports that she's in all regards an equal, and that her differences and limitations are to be valued.
