The Nequinum world exists outside of our earth's time (& space).

Also, on the Jubilant Garden Island (far in the Myriad Ocean), time & aging is slower (10 years can be a millennium outside the island).
#FebruaryWorldbuilders, let's talk about time shenanigans. Are there places or situations in your fictional world where time works differently? Do you have time loops, time dilation (sped up or slowed down), or time travel? Does your world branch into different timelines?

Argh! This one hits me hard in the Writer Problems. 🤣

The answer is Yes and I reeeeeally want to talk about it, but it is a huge ass massive spoiler so I can't! 😭

(No need to respond or interact, this is an empty, nothing reply. 😅 Just me venting writer frustrations.)

The most terrifying thing about the magic that permeates my world is its unpredictability. One small mistake, and everyone ends up as cinders. Or flamingos. Or soup tureens.

Occasionally, all at once.

This thread is amazing. Dark & twisted bovine insanity.
I regret to inform you that I have gone further down the terrible rabbit hole that is Elsie the Cow.

If you squint at enough eBay listings trying to read the words, you find a saga of a marriage gone mad.
This morning, I got distracted while eating cheese because I remembered that the laughing cow is named Elsie and is married to Elmer the cow on the glue labels. To doublecheck that I hadn’t hallucinated that, I looked it up and fell down a dark internet rabbit hole.

Note also the "marketing companies" mentioned in first para of the left-hand email. Both are Philippine publishing scams. Either one or the other is trying a new tactic to squeeze more $$ out of a client, or an unrelated scammer has gotten access to their customer lists.
I'm seeing an uptick in "royalty recovery" scams like this one.

On left is the solicitation--not a phishing scam, as one might suspect from the paragraph boxed in red.

On right: the scammer replies to the author's excited questions & reveals the "associated fee" that's the purpose of the scam.
