And just so I’m not the *only* idiot in my Belle & Sebastian story, Belle is a Great Pyrenees and Moose is a Bernese Mountain Dog. So no, they don’t look alike, actually! They’re both just hefty dogs with goofy grins.

Walking with my dog and my neighbour (who is also British) is making a fuss of him and asks me if I remember Belle & Sebastian. I say “sure” and mumble something about The Boy With The Arab Strap while I look confused as to why she randomly asked me about a Scottish indie band from the ‘90s….

MORE Eurovision/Taskmaster crossover, please! Sam Ryder on the New Year’s Treat this year is great but Daði in the regular show would be fantastic! (I know he isn’t *technically* a comedian, but neither was Osman and he worked out great.)

I don’t know a damn thing about Pokémon cards but my new favourite thing is watching videos of vendors at fairs give free cards to little kids. It’s so cute and there’s SO many of them! Card collecting seems like a really kind, charming space.

Poor Moose had to go straight from doggy daycare to the bathtub because he was absolutely caked in mud. Such highs to terrible lows…he looked so betrayed!

It’s been 15 years and I still haven’t managed to convince my fellow Canadians that Guy Fawkes Night is superior to Halloween. How is burning an effigy of a domestic terrorist on a pyre while eating toffee apples and looking at slightly tipsy people handle explosives NOT a great time?!

It’s been 15 years and I still haven’t managed to convince my fellow Canadians that Guy Fawkes Night is superior to Halloween. How is burning an effigy of a domestic terrorist on a pyre while eating toffee apples and looking at slightly tipsy people handle explosives NOT a great time?!
I’m aware that this is by no means the worst part of the Andrew Windsor thing but personally, I’m disappointed that this probably means we’ll never get the comedy-drama about the production of It’s a Royal Knockout I’ve been desperate for. I was hoping it’d come up in The Crown, but no such luck.

I just had my first ever haircut with a “curl specialist” and it really was the first time anyone has touched my hair who knew how to handle natural curls. Wet cut who? Blow dryer what?
