So, our results suggest that multimodal language use not only unfolds thoughts but may also unfold thoughts about thoughts (aka metacognition)!

We found that the more people produced disfluencies, the lower their retrospective confidence judgments (RCJs) were. In contrast, gesture use was associated with higher RCJs. Beyond that, disfluencies and gestures were interactively related to RCJs.

New research from MIT found that those who used ChatGPT can’t remember any of the content of their essays.

Key takeaway: the product doesn’t suffer, but the process does. And when it comes to essays, the process *is* how they learn.
