Like it's been blowing my mind for about a decade that flu hits the NHS like a meteor every winter and they still won't just offer everyone the jab.
One of the things that is wild to me is that just a few years ago we PROVED that flu is containable with basic biosecurity measures and that massive yearly case peaks aren't inevitable.
And then we just decided to do nothing with that information.

Like yes austerity, aging population, lack of infection control etc. but also we have flu vaccines that are cheap and work really well and the state is just so repulsed by the concept of the public good that they have to be rationed like that's how vaccines work.
