I played varsity squash and tennis at Annapolis. Not much has changed since then. I freely admit the third most important sport at the Academy is in fact the football team. Go Navy beat Army.

Huge parties while people struggle. Golfing while people are laid off. Tariff policies that are damaging the economy and foreign relations. Creating and deploying a Gestapo-like force (ICE for those keeping score). Demolishing part of The White House without approval. And now sleeping on the job. 🤦‍♂️

My theory is that “sick burns” and “cringy bullshit” are equally useless ways of making people feel, wrongly, like they have some power.

Yes, Trump seemingly commits a new atrocity every day, and yes, the Epstein files are important

But...

The way to peel GOP voters away from the cult (and the Dems need to do that if they want to win) is still the same as it was in the Clinton era

It's the economy, stupid

I taught military officers for 25 years. It is not an illegal order to be deployed to Los Angeles. They'd be in a shit-ton of trouble for saying "I refuse the order of my platoon and company commander to move with my unit." That's not how it works, except in the movie you're watching in your head.

You can make all those reforms if you show up and vote for them in local and state elections, which too many people ignored for too long. State houses are repositories of popular power but too many people just don't pay attention to them.
How about :
1) Changing VOTING back TO PAPER BALLOTS ONLY
2) No personal, corporate or AI political donations larger than $50 PER CANDIDATE
3) Move voting to SATURDAY-SUNDAY so people could actually vote unencumbered by work schedule
4) Reinstate polling places dismantled by fucking REPUBLICANS
