Najee Harris is heading back to the West Coast on a one-year deal with the Chargers, per Schefter, as Jim Harbaugh finally lands the RB, who picked Alabama over Michigan in 2017. Great fit for both sides.

Harris' one-year deal is worth a max of $9.25m. Fifth-year option was $6.7m (corrected)

Steelers have indeed agreed to terms with LB Malik Harrison, league source confirms. He gets a two-year, $10 million deal.

Harrison, a 2020 Ravens third-round pick, had a career year with 54 tackles and 3 TFL in 2024.

Signing makes it hard to see Elandon Roberts returning.

Steelers have informed DE Larry Ogunjobi he’s being released, source confirms. Move saves the Steelers $7 million in cap space

Justin Fields was having a late, 10pm dinner in Italy when he learned he'd been traded to the Steelers last year. Seems fitting that he's in Dubai for the start of free agency, where it's currently 10:04 p.m.

Former Steelers OT Dan Moore II gets a MASSIVE payday from the Tennessee Titans, per Schefter -- four years, $82 million, 50 guaranteed. Record-setting deal for a tackle.

Theme of free agency so far is teams are looking at a weak FA class, with a ton of money, and deciding to overpay their own guys instead of overpaying other guys. Paying the devil they know.

Alix Earle -- er, Braxton Berrios -- is going to the Texans on a one-year, $2 million deal, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus via Schefter

Adam Schefter says on ESPN that Justin Fields is "keeping the Steelers at bay" and reiterates that he could come back to Pittsburgh -- but it's a big opportunity for the Jets to make their pitch to the former first-round QB.

Schefter says Fields is the "first domino" that has to fall.

If a free agent agrees to terms with a team but there’s no twitter post to break it, did it even happen?

If Bluesky could set up a way to turn on account notifications asap, that’d be *great*

Steelers release EDGE Preston Smith, freeing up a significant amount of cap space. He was set to count $13.4M against the cap in 2025 and $14.1M in 2026.

Smith, a trade deadline acquisition from Green Bay, was a healthy scratch in two of the final three games.

With no quarterback under contract for 2025 - other than Skyler Thompson’s futures deal - there’s multiple directions the Steelers could take.

Taking a page from my favorite books, I went down some of those hypotheticals:

Choose Your Own QB Adventure

Choose your QB adventure: Which path will the Steelers take -- Wilson, Fields or draft shocker?
Team owner and president Art Rooney II wants to keep Justin Fields or Russell Wilson, but likely not both of them. So who will it be?

Did a Steelers' deep dive with @bepryor.bsky.social & Tim Benz
- Credit/blame for '24
- Who's the QB in '25?
- Is Tomlin the only NFL coach who could've made four playoff appearances over the last six seasons with THOSE rosters?
- Who built that roster?

Once again, securing a quarterback is the Steelers’ top offseason priority

Rooney prioritizes Wilson or Fields; both 'unlikely'
Steelers owner Art Rooney II said his "preference" is to sign either Justin Fields or Russell Wilson, but it's "unlikely" the team brings back both quarterbacks.
