1 simplifies

2 makes more secure

Brits being contrarian (again). Norway has had this for years and I can tell you 1) it simplifies everything from online banking to gov services enormously & 2) it is less of a threat to privacy because data are kept properly in one place instead of in tens of different places with varying security

Twelve Jobs Nigel has earned over £1 million in additional income since the general election.

To understand the scale of it, since the July 2024 election he's earned roughly £100k more as a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion than Starmer gets as PM.

I don't understand why I see things so differently. I see a health insurance industry that thinks it's entitled to charge people 1/3rd of their income for healthcare. That industry shouldn't be "fixed." It should be burned to the ground and its ashes pissed on.

“You described Reform and other parties across Europe today as among the 'right wing equivalents of the fascists in the 1930s'. Why?”

“Because that’s what they are”

@vicderbyshire.bsky.social asks Lord Heseltine about remarks he made at Conservative Party Conference.

IN HONOR OF FRIENDSHIP MONTH:

djt: "We have certain things in common, Jeffrey."

Epstein: "Yes we do, come to think of it."

djt: "A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday- and may every day be another wonderful secret."

And by "wonderful secret", he means raping children.

Micheal Heseltine is a person with principles and a spine.
bestforbritain.org
Michael Heseltine tells @europeanmovement.co.uk event that the Farage's Reform and European populist far right parties are “equivalents to the fascists of the thirties” and adds: ”We have to deal with President Trump for the next 3 years. We don't need his mouthpiece anywhere near No.10.” ~AA 🔥

Robert Peston
@Peston
Heseltine has just addressed a packed meeting of the European Movement at Tory conference. He does not show the restraint of most party leaders in his critique of Farage and Reform: “right wing equivalents to the fascists of the thirties are back on the march: Le Pen in France, AfD in Germany, Fdl in Italy, Vox in Spain and conspicuously Reform in this country. Much of President Trump's language in America coincides with words here in Europe. The immigrant has replaced the Jew as the problem which needs a solution although recent events here have cast a dark shadow…We must make clear that we will never have any part in the populist extremism of Nigel Farage. We have to deal with President Trump for the next 3 years. we don't need his mouthpiece anywhere near Number 10.”

Labour is a coalition

The tories are (were?) a coalition

reform is a coalition

Libdems are a coalition

The greens are a coalition

The constant cross-party bickering and lack of cooperation by them all hardly suggests that the future is any rosier under any of the alternatives to the current

Deliberately misleading headline, absolutely no surprise

A representative of said Labour Council quoted as saying:

"Residents can challenge the decision as was the case here. After considering the information provided, on this occasion we cancelled the fixed penalty notice"

This is worth a read even though nothing will change.

Most people, as their wealth climbs to new highs, will care less and less for their fellow lifeforms.

It becomes all about the numbers and their own comforts.

For people who say Labour are not delivering on their manifesto, are breaking the promises or otherwise doing nothing: those people are simply lying. Nothing more to it. Call them out and criticise them.

We are such an unequal society with more food banks than McDonalds. Leaving the ECHR will make the rich richer and you and me unprotected against a government that cares not a jot for us.

The ECHR is about the rights of the rich and zilch about immigration.

When asked what policy he would prescribe in response to AI, @rbreich.bsky.social said Universal Basic Income. That's the 3-word correct answer. It's not the only thing we need, but it's the core. It's the foundation to build on. The more people say the same, the better. Mention UBI over and over.
