Jesus christ, USCIS is where you go to get back into status. I cannot stress enough that being out of status is a fucking misdemeanor.
Yesterday USCIS began arresting people at their immigration interviews if they were out of status. Before yesterday, USCIS did not call ice unless a person had a removed order already. This is a significant escalation. These are people who are trying to get legal through the legal process.
