(oh noooo now I'm arguing with Gail Simone about the X-Men she's writing) It is certainly easier to buy powerful institutions targeting mutants — that made Krakoa really interesting to me too, because with that, mutants also had their own institution and the balance of power changed a lot

I have a Canadian, a girl of Chinese descent, a German, a Singaporean, an Afro-Argentine, and a Japanese boy, and that's just the main cast. And a Cajun which may not be international exactly but certainly is pretty rare in comics.
The explicit Internationalism of the All New All Different X-Men was a Good Thing, and it felt like that angle really got lost over the years as a driving force for the team. May have been an artifact of the time, but we could sure use it today.

Right, if you haven't experienced this, it's hard to understand.
This is how it is for me. Western North Carolina is imbedded deep and generally comes out when I'm tired or angry. There's a tinge in my every day voice, but not much because I moved to metro Atlanta as a pre-teen.

I was born in Alabama and moved to Oklahoma when I was 11. I was brutally mocked for my accent (which is ironic considering some Okie accents I've heard) so I suppressed it. Went for as neutral as possible. Now it only comes out when I'm tired, drunk, or talking to my family.

no doubt in mind that the mass deportations are happening. the only question is how far they are going to go. and here’s the thing, i think a LOT of people — and especially the savvy journalists — will be shocked when he goes through with it, and when the round ups and deaths start.
