I never get this "Will Stancil keeps arguing and arguing with you" experience everyone raves about, I always just make an inarguable point and then he bails.
Even someone who has that preference of course knows that it's not a universal preference - we have all heard of NIMBYs!

We might look for a lot of different motives, but MTG is following a very long line of Republicans who had some small power over Trump but choose to surrender that power rather than face a Trump-backed primary candidate (and whatever violent threats came along with that).

Q: “Are you affirming you think Trump is a fascist?”

TRUMP: “That’s ok, you can just say yes.”

ZOHRAN: “Ok. Yes.”

It's pretty cool seeing the refusal of any competent civil servants to carry out Trump's political prosecutions paying fruit as the morons they have doing it instead repeatedly fall flat on their faces
“Within the upper ranks of Trump’s government, this latest development went over as well as you might expect. “There go our chances of imprisoning Comey!” one senior Trump appointee vents to us…”

The fearmongering against New York's elimination of cash bail has been so intense, meanwhile in real life the policy seems to be reducing crime
Bail Reform Has Made NYC Safer, Yet Another Study Confirms
You wouldn't know it from talking to most public officials, but the 2019 reforms drove recidivism down.

NYC had proportional representation for a while and it worked great until it was abolished for electing too many socialists
On election day, an election 🧵

@andycraig.bsky.social argues that institutional reform of congressional elections is necessary. Instead of the winner-take-all logic of gerrymandered single-member districts, he says, choose proportional representation.
Want to End the Gerrymandering Wars? Embrace Proportional Representation
Trump has triggered a particularly fierce round, but the logic of war is inherent in a winner-take-all system

As we're scraping the bottom of the barrel for animated classics to desecrate do you think Hollywood would go for a Who Frames Roger Rabbit live action remake where the Toons are just played by Black actors, bringing it back to the situation the original was a metaphor for?

It's funny (not funny) how the two sides in this MAGA internal conflict are "vicious hatred towards all minority groups" and "vicious hatred towards all minority groups except Jews"
Tucker Carlson's interview with Nick Fuentes is even worse for the right—and America—than it looks.

I love seeing Cuomo off in the corner of the ballot with the also-rans
I see some grumbling that this is an unfair ballot design for Cuomo, but I don't see the problem. You have the major and minor party nominations and then a random order for the independent (technically, new party) nominations. It's not a favorable spot for Cuomo but they've got be in some order.
