While Paris was busy creating 300 pedestrianized and low-traffic school streets, New York did absolutely nothing to address the perpetually unsafe conditions caused by parents driving their kids to school—a hazard they know exists.

DOT blatantly disregarded their own public comment process.

Over 90% of over 650 online comments on NYC’s rulemaking website opposed this rule. Despite this overwhelming opposition, DOT says: "no changes were made to this rule in response to the comments received."

If the car has GSA-issued, U.S. Government plates you can contact [email protected].

The cops aren’t going to write themselves parking tickets.

But you can report placard abuse and falsified 311 complaints to
[email protected] and [email protected]. CC: the local council member’s office when you do.

how a single one of these cars is allowed to be parked here, and yet even parking in a lane of traffic apparently doesn’t matter to NYPD.

Good stuff. And this merely counts people who "primarily" take a bike to work. If you bike to a train and then to work or only use a bike to take the kids to school or get groceries, you're not counted. Add that in and we're making some excellent progress. Lots more to do, of course!
