Retired enjoying life as a free spirit. 2024 was not a good year. My health declined, my company went bankrupt. That was February, everything has settled personally, and the abortion of the election has dramatically impacted my commitment to politics.

It really makes my skin crawl, knowing that Putin and his little Cabal of murders are standing on American soil. Irrespective of whatever matters or discussed the simple fact that he's here disgusts me.

“None of these books are obscene”

Velshi Banned Book Club: Author Angie Thomas and a big win against censorship in Florida
In August of 2024, a group of publishers, students, parents, and best-selling authors including Velshi Banned Book Club vets like Julia Alvarez, Laurie Halse Anderson, Jodi Picoult, and Angie Thomas filed a lawsuit against Florida for book banning provisions within House Bill 10-69, which saw 700+ beloved works of literature removed from shelves in the state. And this week, “we pushed back, and we won,” says author Angie Thomas. The freedom to read was upheld. “None of these books are obscene” wrote the judge in a 50-page decision. Books "are a gateway" to empathy, says Thomas. "They allow us to step into lives unlike our own.”

Apparently, my opponent is still “trying to figure out” if she broke Virginia ethics rules by failing to disclose a free private plane trip.

It's simple — either she lied on her financial disclosures, or she's lying to Virginians now.

More and more couples are delaying having kids - or forgoing it altogether - because it's just too damn expensive. How expensive is it?

For a couple in MKE Co to raise 2 kids and live a modest but stable life, they would need to make about $107,320 per year, or $25.80 per hour if both parents work.
