A photo I took eighteen years ago of the old Phillips station in Turkey. It was in the fall and I had quite a lonely feeling. I listened to see if I could hear the sounds of Bob Wills music playing (he was from Turkey) but all I could hear was the sound of a forlorn wind ---- and that was enough.

It is 1:30 in the morning, and I am scrolling through my feed here while drinking (not sipping) a California cab that is very port-like and eating a white chocolate KitKat. This can't be normal.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

History Authors and Readers, I need help. I have so many books to read, but after decades of reading technical manuals, where I would concentrate on the specific problem I had to solve, I find my mind wandering as I try to read the books I want to consume. What can I do? Help!

We went to one of our favorite neighborhood sports bars. We met some locals who are as concerned about what's going on as we are. Everyone is devastated by the direction that things are going. It is hard to celebrate Independence Day with the overhang of gestapo-like tactics going on.
