If the House passes a 3 year extension of the ACA tax credits - which they now have the votes to do - then @LeaderJohnThune has to call it up for a vote in the Senate.

GOP leaders have tried as hard as they can to hurt families, but the dam is breaking. Let's get this done.

1-866-952-4456 to tell Netflix that in no way do you want Elon fucking Musk determining what you watch.

I just called, got through in about 15 seconds, and told them that I strongly support queer inclusion in their programming and that I will cancel my subscription if they cave.
1. Led by Elon Musk, the far-right has exploded in a campaign to get Netflix to remove shows with queer and trans characters.

If Netflix capitulates to their demands, an already strained market for LGBTQ+ animators might become even more dire.

#ewgc Read and loved THE GALES OF NOVEMBER by John Bacon, due out in October from @wwnorton.com. I know I mentioned it last month, but it really was fantastic. 50th anniversary of the sinking is in November. So interesting and full of history of the Great Lakes and shipping.

I can’t adequately articulate how stupid and dangerous this is.

Vaccine-preventable diseases will come roaring back.

Public health and vaccination are not choose your own adventure.

The vaccination rate needs to be 95% for adequate “herd health”.

holy shit dude using a fake deployment for wildland fire crews from a fire that’s only 13% contained during peak western US fire season to detain multiple firefighters and remove the crews from the fire is a scale of evil & dangerous I can’t fully communicate to people not from wildfire regions
Holy shit:

Stateline spoke to nearly a dozen firefighters, agency staffers and contractors, who said that top officials assigned to the fire deployed the crews to a remote location under false pretenses so federal agents could check their immigration status.

18 years ago, prosecutors in South Florida totally ignored the Crime Victims Rights Act when they gave Jeffrey Epstein a sweetheart deal.

Now the Trump DOJ is accused of ignoring that law yet again — with the very same victims.

Under Reagan's tax cuts, the average tax cut for the top 1% was 68x larger than the average cut for middle-class households.

Under Bush's tax cuts, it was 16x larger.

And under Trump, 36x larger.

The GOP has always governed for the privileged few.

Many people that say things along the lines of "Libraries should do this thing" have never investigated to see if Libraries are in fact already doing that thing or if it is in fact possible for Libraries to do it!

Libraries already do a lot of things in between doing the other things that they do!

The floods ripped through Texas on July 4.

On July 5, FEMA received 3000 calls from survivors. 1% were unanswered.

That night, Trump/Noem fired the people who answer the calls.

On July 6, FEMA received 2,363 calls. 65% unanswered.

July 7: 85%.

Sick.
