Tomorrow evening it’ll be my annual duty to vaguely shepherd the activity on the #duvetknowitschristmas hashtag and urge people to give small sums to charity. 7.30pm? Something like that?

Is it me or do they show Dante’s Peak quite an inordinate amount on Film 4?

This is what is going on.
This is vile. Local guy speaks to Sky News about the impact of asylum seekers protests. Watch what happens and share widely

Genuine question for my comic friends.
Do people still heckle?
If so - what are some you’ve heard where you’ve thought…’fair enough’…

Yesterday I walked through the Barbican’s fabulous modernist landscape. I was carrying a long roll of wrapping paper, but despite the floral design I still managed to feel like Alex and his droogs from Clockwork Orange wielding a cane - about to whack Warren Clarke’s cricket box in slow motion.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

sometimes when I'm sad I go on my photos from seven years ago from a holiday to Portugal when I saw two stuffed lions who look like Neil and Christine Hamilton

Is there another band that burned as brightly and as briefly as Buffalo Springfield? Three albums in less than 3 years then gone. Sure, you got Stills, Young and Poco out of it. Plus Jim Messina. But wow - there’s not one song in their output that isn’t breathtakingly sublime and heartwarming.

I spoke in Parliament today about the fact that AI lies. It's a basic fact of machine learning tools that seems to pass many people by, because there's little to no education about what they are, and are not.
Someone on Threads noticed you can type any random sentence into Google, then add “meaning” afterwards, and you’ll get an AI explanation of a famous idiom or phrase you just made up. Here is mine

Michael Brecker honking like a mad thing on Paul Simon’s concert in Central Park is wonderful. More EWI in modern music please!

Honestly - the way that the Sonos connection goes in and out is pretty frustrating. Does anyone else have this first work problem?

‘The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys’ by Traffic doesn’t get nearly enough credit as it should. For me that the Wiltshire ‘Aja’. Absolutely beautiful stuff.

It happens every now and again - I get totally obsessed with one song and have to listen to it over and over. I’m sure that not so unusual…
… Anyhoo, right now it’s ’Night Owl’ by Gerry Rafferty. Absolutely killer structure and melody, plus beautiful engineering. Bravo! 👏

I’ve just found out that there’s a ‘Go Ape’ adventure park near Milton Keynes.

@chrisgpackham.bsky.social Hi Chris. How can my dad share his ‘Fox of the day’ photo with you? Is there a submission box?

I’ve only posted a handful of times on here but already I’m getting some bots/fake accounts following me.
Has anyone else had the same experience? Is there something that can be done?

Beautiful day out in Epping Forest today. For someone who used to live in the Canadian rockies, these wintry walks through the woods are a lovely dose of nostalgia. Magic.
