The Tories say that all parties want to tackle child poverty.

Sadly, it's not true. Only Labour have taken action.

We'll drive the largest reduction of child poverty within a single Parliament.

Deeds, not words.

A fluffy big dog is sitting by her human's outdoor cafe table. Fluffy Big Dog is a very polite dog and is genteelly raising her paw to everyone who passes by, ever ready to observe the social niceties.

Corruption threatens our national security, undermines legitimate business and steals money from working people’s pockets.

By deploying specialist law enforcement capabilities, we will disrupt the serious organised criminals, terrorists and kleptocrats.

@umakumaran.bsky.social is right. We don't have a duty to open our doors to threats of rape and violence. I'm tempted to start screenshotting every bit of abuse I get and posting it weekly but there's literally not enough hours in the day.

You are ABSOLUTELY NOT going to regret listening to this bird:
A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).

Two moderate (M-class) solar flares on the Sun today, showing a beautiful example of ‘flare loop arcades’. These are bright ‘slinky-like’ arches of plasma, formed as the solar flare reconfigures magnetic fields within the Sun’s atmosphere!

This is niche but my main annoyance at this is because they've maximised the surface area, which will inevitably make the sponge drier.

Half a lifetime ago, when I was a cabinet member on a local council pre 2010, the director of public health used to come and see me if there was *one* family in a B&B for more than an emergency weekend or so. Just the least safe and healthy place for children

Proud to co-sponsor @yasminqureshimp.bsky.social's Bill which would give councils stronger powers to control excessive firework noise.

This is a real issue for many in Oldham West, Chadderton & Royton; they deserve action which cracks down on fireworks to keep them safe & respectful for everyone.

Yes, it's eager. Yes, it's censorious. But it has the very considerable advantage of not being fascist.

I was so proud to sit with colleagues on this Bill Committee. It was an extremely collegiate affair with the opposition doing a good job of probing (with only a few lapses into petty politics!)
Proud to be on this Bill Committee for the Hillsborough Law.

Especially proud to be with my colleagues
@ianbyrnemp.bsky.social & Maria Eagle MP, who have worked on this for years.

I fully support the areas to be strengthened & will work with families, NowHillsborough & MPs.
