I have a whole folder of ATProto apps on iOS (plus a select few directly on my Home Screen).

Today we call them “ATproto” apps.

In the future … they’re just a better way to build a wide range of apps, where users own their data, login in anywhere, and choose different interfaces.
Screenshot of a portion of an iOS Home Screen.

The icons for Bluesky, Ouranos, Leaflet, and Semble are shown, plus a folder labeled ATProto that has PinkSky, Popfeed, Spark, Flashes, Skylight, Anisota, Bookhive, Germ, and Anchor in it.

Open Source licensing is one thing to point at - do it yourself!

Or, pool funds to pay you or others to help.

As an ecosystem, I see Slices as being of HUGE value.

The EuroSky hosting an instance and you hosting a shared instance seems like a good start.

Keeping the lights on means paying you + infra. Aiming for e.g. $250KUSD per year as the base case is likely a good goal -- the rest of it is how to get there.

I love the ecosystem thinking, but people are in low trust environments right now, and are afraid of getting rug pulled.

I'm lucky to be at @z-space.ca where I am inspired by game devs, designers, & players who hang out here and I find out about super cool game experiences.

I'm barely controller literate, when @milanks.com had me try it I just fell on my face, but the concept and design of Baby Steps is very cool.

How does one sell video (not adult content) on the internet these days? With the ATProtocol OAuth Masterclass wrapped up, I'm thinking about making a non-interactive series of videos (one for each part). Preferably with Stripe integration but flexible. #LazyWeb

@awarm.space was in Seattle so saw your talk. Maybe asked I question even?

Also even though @kissane.myatproto.social reversed the dark forest definitions in this article I agree with her calls for big social / big public needs to remain

Against the dark forest
The complex of ideas I’m going to call the Dark Internet Forest emerges from mostly insidery tech thinking, but from multiple directions.

Before creating For You I actually built a link-focused personalized feed Links For You.

It uses the same algorithm but:
- it only looks at posts with links
- it groups all posts with the same link to avoid showing different posts that have the same link

Feedback welcome!

The @frontpage.fyi lexicon would be good if you want long comments!

And yeah, other than using “Bluesky posts”, letting people login to your blog and comment long posts would be a thing.

Yes, lots. Do a search for "bluesky comments on a blog" and you'll find lots of examples.

So hype about this partnership with @altstore.io!

@riley.social and @shanegillio.bsky.social truly walk the walk, and we've been fans for a long time, so we were more than excited to build this bridge with them.

With Bridgy Fed, the AltStore is coming to the ATmosphere 🚀

We're so excited to be partnering with @altstore.io on their open social web integration, bridging accounts from the Fediverse to the ATmosphere with custom domains so iOS developers can automatically promote their apps across both ecosystems 🌐
