That's one of those things I only know because someone emailed me about it. Which was the only way to find out about it.

When I was in high school there was a real annoying hardcore kid who came to all the local shows so my friend started a rumor that he supported the Iraq war.

There's no "regular politics" anymore because you can no longer maintain the idea that we all agree on common goals but we only differ about the means of getting there or whatever. The guys in charge now are plainly amoral, sadistic nihilists. They delight in it! You can't civilly disagree with that

Really fortuitous casting that Jersey is shaped exactly like John Nettles' head.

My grand theory is that 6.5 is the ideal rating on IMDb for an interesting movie because it means it alienated idiots. If you’d like proof: Almost every Kiyoshi Kurosawa movie is rated between 6.3-6.9.
The IMDb for Pulse, rated 6.5 The IMDb for bright future, rated 6.7 The IMDb for license to live, rated 6.9 The IMDb for cloud, rated 6.4

Bit depressing to think about if somehow there are more elections and somehow Democrats get into power that no one will be prosecuted or held to account bc consultants will say its too politically risky again and the cycle after that we'll do it all over again and even worse again. Ah well. Ah well!

can you imagine just sitting down to plan this and not feeling any shame or hesitation. seeing jane goodall on the tv as you’re doing it and how her thing was gorillas and yours is getting ready to deport a guy who’s been wrongly imprisoned since reagan’s first term

After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

Depraved.

He was wrongfully imprisoned for 43 years. Moments after being released, ICE took him
Subramanyam “Subu” Vedam now faces deportation.

I'll flush a toilet for just a grand a month, any takers?

Maybe halfway down the spectrum from Mel Ott.

Also, I don't think he has a single line in the scene, but beach dirtbag Toby Huss is one of cinema's greatest characters.

Bedazzled is on in the bar and I'm realizing the main difference between me and Brendan Fraser's character at the beginning of the movie is he had a job. It's rough, I tell ya!

My usual place is out of High Life. Hammin' it up instead.
An awkwardly held can of Hamm's ("from the land of sky blue waters") with lots of spots because the camera lens on my phone is real fucked up.

I haven't seen it in a bit but 7-11 had prime rib flavored chips. Got the taste close enough that it was weird when they crunched.

Do you really have any rights if they are openly saying they will just make up reasons to detain you?
thematthill.bsky.social
Wow. Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.

At first I was upset at the Bari Weiss news, and I still think it is very bad, but I underestimated how much schadenfreude I'd have access to immediately
premthakker.bsky.social
Update: Bari Weiss’s first pitch at CBS — a roundtable with Antony Blinken, Mike Pompeo, and Hillary Clinton that ended up being a virtual interview with Clinton & Condoleezza Rice — has about 150 viewers on YouTube.

Added with the 24/7 CBS stream, it’s just over 1200 viewers.
