Portland should aim for a minimum 2% average annual growth rate. People already want to live in Portland, we just need to make it cheap and easy to build homes. 🏗️🏙️🌲🚲🦫

On the East side of the river we probably have to do a bore due to the steep approach down to the river, but the west side should be built like the Market Street Subway, and most of the NYC Subway: Cut & Cover.

When Portland and Metro leadership finally decide to get to work on the downtown MAX tunnel, we're gonna have to be careful to not let them excavate to the and center of the earth in an effort to coddle a couple dozen whiney business owners.

This is so unbelievably wasteful.

I just can't get over the differences in scale between Ballard Link's Westlake Station as proposed and the original Westlake Station, off to the left.
Ballard Link's Westlake has two separate entrances underneath separate buildings, with one showing a long tunnel to get to the train guideway. They are at least five stories deeper than the original Westlake, which is tiny and only around 10-15% of the size

This might be the worst ICE video yet, because it’s literally random dudes hanging around, and then a bunch of heavily armed thugs running them down completely out of nowhere, because they’re brown. It’s a nightmare that would have seemed excessive in Jim Crow. Everyone in America should see this.

ICE is not only chasing down every random brown person in Chicago, they have a cameraman following them to film this for social media. Cruelty and inhumanity as content.

I really like my class 3 for my 6 mile commute into the suburbs. Helps me take the lane on a sketchy stretch of roadway, and the additional speed does help to make it more time competitive with driving.

The California fire marshal has created an email address for comments from the public on the legislatively mandated single-exit work group: [email protected]

If you have any comments (any at all, whether particularly novel or not), please send them.

Unfortunately it seems that the approved locations in waterfront park are not very visible and not near to where people are spending their time. We gotta get some spots in along the waterfront path.

Great for the other parks though!

Great news from Portland Parks. They've made it easier and cheaper for mobile vendors to set up at local parks!

Food trucks & other vendors make public spaces sticky & build community.

Hope this gives momentum to @councilorgreen.bsky.social hot dog ordinance. www.portland.gov/parks/news/2...

Portland peeps:

If you got a stack of newspapers lying around, I need them for a big paper mache whale.

I called the governor to ask him to sign SB 79. It was easy and it only took a few minutes.
