I know there's been years of disinfo downplaying the flu in order to dismiss COVID as a threat, but both things cause serious illness and are best avoided. This flu wave is no joke. It's a good idea to get this season's flu vaccine (it's not too late), and wear a well-fitting mask like an N95.

There’s also a phonebank this evening to ask people in key states to call their Senators.

We have a real chance of averting this disaster—so grateful to everyone working on it.
Btw, @moveon.org is phonebanking tomorrow night to get members in key states to call their senators against RFK Jr. You can sign up here.

RFK is an AIDS denialist, has questioned germ theory, proposed halting all infectious disease research, and thinks pharmaceutical treatment for chronic illness should be replaced with diet and exercise.

Putting such a person in charge of the Long Covid response would be a catastrophe for us.
Sen. Todd Young (R-IN) asks RFK if he will prioritize Long COVID research & ensuring RECOVER will focus on treatments and not replicate existing observational research

Young: “They’ve been largely ignored..the slow pace has been criticized…”

RFK: “Absolutely, with enthusiasm.”

Resisting fascism & the degradation of public health can be as simple as wearing a respirator in public spaces. It shows care for the most vulnerable & fights back against eugenics.

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

What is one simple act of resistance that will absolutely infuriate any authoritarian determined to make the world ignore pandemics and climate change?

Wearing a mask.
