How do these hacks in the news not laugh in these people's faces when they use this double speak? If I asked someone if we were stealing oil and they give me this answer, I'd laugh and be like "hmm that really sounds like stealing." But instead they are like "okay thanks for the answer."
CNBC: Is there a narrative in Venezuela that you are stealing their oil?

CHRIS WRIGHT: That's untrue. We're just controlled the flow of revenues from their oil

Hell yeah brother I'll drink to that
Oz: "Alcohol is a social lubricant that brings people together. In the best case scenario, I don't think you should drink alcohol, but it does allow people an excuse to bond and socialize and there's probably nothing healthier than having a good time with friends in a safe way."

This would instantly make Peacock the best sports streaming platform out there. I've been wanting something like this for years now.

"the rule of law makes us the last best hope on Earth" is so fucking stupid. Very manifest destiny vibes from this mission statement. I know the ShitAmericansSay subreddit is going to love this. It's also funny how Bari supports a president who is clearly breaking the law on a daily basis.

Lmao we're gonna do the Hunger Games. It's funny how all dystopian stuff written takes place at least 100 years into the future because no way we'd slide that quickly.

It's weird applying for an apartment after you've been a home owner for a while. They want rental history and it's like, I've owned a home for the last five years.

The horrible part of all this is Roger Marshall *personally* drove the non-profit hospital in his hometown out of business in favor of the for-profit operation he owned.

And then mismanaged it so badly he needed a bailout from the state (Univ. of Kansas).

He knows patients aren't legit consumers.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

The delta between what Biden did and how much anger he got for it and the absolute crickets Trump has gotten for making the student loan landscape *magnitudes worse than it was before* is absolutely one of the most enraging things about this entirely enraging era.

$1B for airports is so incredibly small. Just for example the Denver airport has been going under an extensive upgrade the last couple of years and that has cost $2.1B, with a further $12B planned for future upgrades. LAX allocated $30B for upgrades!

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

If we actually cared about punishing drug lords then the Sackler family would have gotten a much harsher punishment for pushing Oxycontin on Americans. But they are white and rich so they just get a slap on the wrist!
Sen. Roger Marshall defends Hegseth: "Look, we're losing 200 Americans every day to drug poisoning from these drug lords. This is a war. And it's ugly. War is never pretty ... that strike probably saved thousands of American lives."

It's wild for years conservatives would say "but what about the insurance companies" when you would bring up the idea of universal healthcare. Now they are openly saying "let's forget about the insurance companies."
Bessent on CNBC re: White House health care plans: "I'm not involved in the conversation. I know President Trump wants working Americans to keep more of their money, cut out the insurance companies, and we'll see. He's the president of solutions, and I'm sure that we will have a solution to this."

More like Pete is getting sucked in to believing nonsense from right-wing media personalities to cater to centrists. These people think that just acknowledging LGBTQ people existing is focusing too much on identity.
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25

Upslope makes some of my favorite lagers in Colorado. The craft beer market is rough in Colorado, regardless of how many people try to claim it is doing well.
Opened in 2008, Upslope is one of the state’s largest craft breweries and arguably one of the most successful retail brands. It joins the rapidly-growing Wilding Brands, which has made several high profile deals in 2025.

Upslope Brewing is the latest to sell to rapidly-growing Colorado beverage group
This is a shell for a story about Wilding Brands acquiring another Colorado beer maker and it’s probably a big deal.

This is really funny because a big focus of the right-wing mansophere grifters the last few years was growing a beard to be a true man. Now he's out here saying people with beards aren't real men. Just incredible.
Hegseth: "We don't need to be a military of beardos anymore. Do you know how many troops claim to be Nordic Pagan? No, suddenly it's become this real fake religious affiliation inside the Pentagon where troops came to be Nordic Pagan so they can grow a beard and nobody challenges them on it."

I mean, the actual report doesn't really paint a good picture of the economy. They just cherry picked one statistic and called it good knowing people wouldn't read past the headline.
