Badenoch's address to the Tory conference was like an eight year old called to the front of the class to relate what she did on her holiday. The delivery had a smug self confidence and was not nearly as interesting as an eight year olds account of her holiday.

Also cars on the mobility scheme are not free. The cost is taken from the recipients mobility allowance, which if it is insufficient to cover the cost of the lease will require topping up by the individual.

Since 1980, the ECHR has heard just 29 UK immigrant deportation case, and the UK won 16 of them. Quitting will make no material difference to immigration, just weaken protections for absolutely everybody in this country. But Farage and the Tories know that.
