Trump dozes while Marco Rubio speaks to him directly next to him. Just insane optics.

I wouldn't be surprised if Labour were to run on rejoining the single market/customs union at the next election. One of the primary challenges they will face (if present conditions continue) is to unite the liberal left behind them and against Reform/the Tories. Brexit 2 is a good way to do that.

So for those keeping track, that means Canada will join the EU's defence procurement scheme, but the UK won't.

It's really incredible how much British pride continues to inflict self-harm.
Canada clinches deal to join Europe’s €150B defense scheme
The deal concludes months of tough talks and will allow Ottawa to take part in procurements financed by the EU’s SAFE program.

Kelly: He runs around on stage talking about lethality and the warrior ethos.. That’s not the message that should be coming from the Secretary of Defense… He runs around on a stage like he’s a 12 year old playing army. It’s embarrassing.

Look around. The case for more, not less, liberal arts education - actual, real education in reading, writing, thinking, arguing, analyzing, & synthesizing by doing the actual hard work for which there is no substitute - is stronger than it’s ever been at any point in human history.

✨ A few years back I stood outside Wells Cathedral for a full day and photographed the impact of the light on the front facade. I was amazed at the outcome - at how a single entity could morph and change under the changing light. 🌅 #thread

9 defeats in 13 games is a wild run of form right now.

I said at the start of the year - too much change = transition year and that tends to always be bad.

Ideally you want to phase out older players and phase in replacements over a period of 6-12 months. Robbo & Fabinho are probably perfect

It’s about time that the media and political class start being realistic about this: we can either have Brexit or we can have economic growth, but we can’t have both.
The EU are removing their de minimis threshold next year. So that will be the EU added to the growing list of places that I can’t sell to.
As a small business it’s getting harder and harder to keep going.
Fuck brexit and all who sail in her. 🤬

It would be very in keeping with how UK elites are chronically 6-18 months behind the curve if UK university leaders torch their credibility in trying to appease Reform and MAGA only for further shifts in political trends to start seeing a decline in support for Trump and Farage

Sometimes politics is unavoidably personal
Michael Bohacek, a top Republican in Indiana, whose daughter has Down Syndrome, just announced he will be voting to block Trump's gerrymandering after Trump used the R-word to insult people yesterday - it seems like there are still some Republicans with enough integrity to stand up to the bully.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
