When you create products & services for humans, humans are the point. You know there is more to a process than just the steps.

Listening deeply is a way to encounter all the interesting parts of people’s approaches. Visualize the parts as a whole in a mental model skyline.

Information environment has reached its grotesque conclusion in that there is a very real killer out there who has not been identified, apprehended, or investigated, a detail practically inconsequential to nearly every commentator’s purposes.

The horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk was quickly condemned across the political spectrum - as it should be.

Most Americans do not support political violence, regardless of what some may claim or imply on social media.

🧵 We advocated for the user ... because fast-growth-capitalism feels icky.

How can we bring the #business value they want?

Solving #product is one thing. Solving an understanding of what people are trying to get done, without your product in mind, is another.

You need both capabilities on your team. 🥜🍫

NEW: Cheaper batteries mean near-24/365 solar is now economic☀️

We analysed 18 years of hourly insolation data at 12 places, to see how close to 24/365 electricity it was possible to get.

The sunniest places get over 90% - and up to 99% - of the way... from just $100/MWh. 🧵

I'm pretty sure this isn't what Google's going for with their embedded Gemini results. Multiply by millions of users that's a lot of compute wasted.

What if we evaluate the format of the search string and run AI results if it's in a prompt format?

Fascinating article and thread. As much as part of me wants to say "how foolish to spend tens of thousands for an education and cheat it" the other part says "with no risk of consequences of course people will AI their way to ease."

Hey, let’s talk about deceptive #uxdesign patterns bad for customers.

RYZE Superfoods is currently marketing heavily on social media. They sell “mushroom coffee” & other plant based lifestyle products.

They also use acknowledged deceptive patterns which lead some customers into unwanted product.

After years of running Pop_OS on my desktop I installed Linux Mint on my old laptop. I had no idea what I was missing in LM.

Testing out on the desktop: LM handles my weird monitors and successfully wakes from sleep. Considering hopping. Not sure I'd pull off a clean swap.

Building an inclusive, pluralistic community starts with (but doesn't end with) listening to the folks who haven't felt welcome in our spaces. People showing up for a game night or a protest shouldn't have to deal with Debate Me Bros rattling on about the singular they or arguing about sports.

Spent my hobby time this weekend putting Linux Mint on my 10 year old MacBook Air. Wonderful experience so far. Wish I'd done this sooner.
