Congratulations to far-left extremists, whose ideological purity tests and bad-faith anti-Democratic activism helped seal the fate of the very people they claimed to be fighting for. Again.

Trump failed for the third time to win a majority of US voters. While his Electoral College win was decisive, the popular-vote margin now stands at only 1.64%.

And if 225k of his voters across just three states voted differently or stayed home, he would’ve lost.

That’s no mandate.

The NYT printed this in its op-ed section this AM: "A central pillar of American democracy is that no man is above the law. But Mr. Trump isn’t an ordinary man."

Wrong.

America doesn't have a king or a divine ruler. We elect an ORDINARY MAN as president.

I don't want to sound alarmist or anything, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to skip FBI background checks and bury congressional ethics reports about nominees to the most important posts in the federal government.

There is precedent for a House ethics commission to release a committee report even after a member of Congress has resigned. And Senate Republicans who’ll oversee Gaetz’s nomination want to see it.
Senators want details of Matt Gaetz ethics probe before his confirmation vote for attorney general
Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, says he's open to subpoenaing the House Ethics Committee for information on Trump's pick. Others say the confirmation process will bring things to light.

Far and above any of Trump’s cabinet picks thus far, RFK Jr—a well known anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist—is the most dangerous.

Personally I think satire is an important form of deprogramming! Mocking and marginalizing conspiracies often works better than debunking or debating them.
I'm relieved about downfall of this ghoul and the fact that this is *with* the Sandy Hook families is a good sign, but I was hoping this would become a kind of deprogramming site? I wanted to see some harm undone. I'm not sure you get there with satire.
Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.

Gaetz is the only Republican in Congress more despised by his colleagues than Ted Cruz.

I don’t think there’s any way this report doesn’t eventually see the light of day.
Per reporter Reese Gorman,

The attorney for the minor who Gaetz is accused of having sex with calls for the Ethics Committee to release their report on Gaetz.

“We would support the House Ethics Committee immediately releasing their report. She was a high school student and there were witnesses.”

It’s hard to believe Gaetz would agree to have every skeleton in his closet summoned during Senate confirmation hearings or that Trump would brook the backlash.

This pick signals Trump’s seriousness about recess-appointing his cabinet and skirting the scrutiny of a normal confirmation process.

The committee has been investigating allegations that Mr. Gaetz, President-elect Donald J. Trump’s pick for attorney general, engaged in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use.
