In 1987, when I was at the City of York Council I commissioned Charles Kightly to write about the 15 Dukes of York (from 1385 onwards)
Andrew had been made Duke in 1986 & he & the Duchess, were given Honorary Freedom of York.
History is only written with hindsight…..

This week the Treasury sold £5bn of 3yr gilts in an auction, more than 3 times oversubscribed.£ has strengthened against other major currencies. Inflation to peak at 4%, economic growth in H1 of 2025 was fastest in G7, and BoE cut interest rates this month by 0.25%, to 4%.
