BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT (1956): one of the Fritz Lang films that made a massive impression on me when I saw it on telly at an impressionable age. One year before Dana Andrews starred in NIGHT OF THE DEMON: not bad for an actor whose career wikipedia has decided was in decline.

My mom gave me the most wonderful Easter gift - this kitty book she loved as a child. Her own copy is long gone but she found this one in beautiful condition with the original bell and ribbon!

Watched LAST TRAIN FROM GUN HILL (1959). Kirk Douglas goes after Earl Holliman who killed his wife. Turns out Holliman is the son of old friend Anthony Quinn. Good story but little character development, felt like Douglas phoned it in. Carolyn Jones is good, though.

Rewatching Tomorrow Is Forever. If you've seen it, you know the story is preposterous (an understatement), but the handling is a class act. Both Colbert and Welles are at the top of their game. Bonus: Natalie Wood making her debut. What's your opinion?

William Holden had made his leading man debut in 1939's Golden Boy (co-star Stanwyck became a mentor), then for the next decade worked steadily in a series of medium-weight movies until SunsetBlvd moved him to an entirely other level of stardom.
