I'm actually pleased that I ended up having the op in Finland. I was in a brilliant hospital and the leading surgeon was excellent. Apparently one of the top ones in his field there. They managed to put the ends of my bowels together successfully, so I never had a stoma bag.

Yes, I’ve had that several times now, agree, much easier.

They should maybe do some Ads showing the updated method. It's so much easier, and - I've been doing the screening from when it was first piloted, yearsnyears ago and I'm not squeamish but surely the new way wd be fine even for those that are, if they saw how neat and easy it is.

The updated method is so much easier to use so hopefully folks will get over their squeamishness.

Bowel screening for 50 year olds started rolling out in June 2007 in Scotland so it should have been caught if living here. I wonder how many others have been missed in England between 2007 and 2021 (just checked dates

I didn't know that. Bowel screening starts at 50 in Scotland. It was here for me in less than a week of my 50th.

I prefer working age men....NTM in days gone by who sent their Grannies to see what like on the other side of the world. It's always been the youngest/strongest sent on ahead before the rest of their families joined them.

Thank you! It's not actually cold sores, just very dry lips, but I'll bear that in mind for the next eruption 😄

I know it sounds horrific, but back in the day dabbing the cold sore with urine sorted it out. We thought it was an old wives tale, but hubby suggested it to a friend who had 4 of them. Next time we saw him he was so grateful, no longer just a tale a' doot. Hx

Now I'm officially retired, I needed something to fill the days, so a shed, wood and tools keeps me more than busy.
Also have an archery club down here on Tuesdays, Friday club in the pub in the afternoon and mens shed nearby if I ever find the time to actually attend. Not enough hours in the day.

Wonderful! I'm glad you are keeping well.

As for not enough hours in the day, I have a solution:
