New from @policyalternatives.ca : Politicians have been framing interprovincial trade barriers as an end-all-be-all for dealing with the #Trump #tariffs. There's just one issue—the numbers that they're citing are wildly inflated. By @marclee.bsky.social

Those big GDP numbers about interprovincial trade barriers are wrong - CCPA
A lot of public discourse in Canada right now is about how we need to urgently remove interprovincial trade barriers in the face of the Trump tariff threat. But if we look at the actual evidence, poli...

Very grateful for prayers and good vibes as I get my knee replaced tomorrow. Also VERY grateful for our (mostly) universal Canadian healthcare system that will cover the cost completely and didn’t keep me waiting all that long either.

More evidence for a universal basic income (UBI) from research involving unhoused folks in BC
Keeping someone unhoused is around 56,000/year due to different costs related.

Meanwhile, this project by Foundations For Social Change "saved the shelter system approximately $8,100 per person for a total of roughly $405,000 over one year for all 50."

A B.C. research project gave homeless people $7,500 each — the results were 'beautifully surprising' | CBC News
The results of a B.C. research project that gave thousands of dollars to homeless people are in and, according to one researcher, could challenge stereotypes about people "living on the margins."

May my mind come alive today
To the invisible geography
That invites me to new frontiers.

May I have the courage today
To live the life that I would love,
To postpone my dream no longer
But do at last what I came here for
And waste my heart on fear no more.

Was so sorry to see that Tony Campolo has died. I was privileged to accompany Tony during one of his tours in BC on behalf of World Vision. Brilliant and haunted by his desire to do more even at great personal cost. Deeply admired his integrity as he became affirming. A great loss.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Remember those who have been killed, injured, abused, tortured for being who they are.

Remember those who have taken their own lives because they could not live in a world where they could not be themselves.

Remember them. And make the world remember them.

Deep, bold and daring wisdom from my newest spiritual teacher...
“The ultimate measure of health in any community might well reside in our ability to stand in awe at what folks have to carry rather than in judgment of how they carry it. Judgment creates the distance that moves us away from each other. Awe is the great leveller.”
