“Respect is a two-way street!”

RESPECT is nearly doubling the daily fare cap in 2026.

@ridemcts.bsky.social, we know the bad hand you’ve been dealt in this city, county, and state by people that are not your management. It’s frustrating that you’ve taken those bad cards and played them so poorly.

Lucky thing I know not to trust the tracker on the app within 4 minutes AND that the “schedule” is really more of a “suggestion” for my stop, anyway; if it’s early, a sucker like me just loses the high stakes ride game.

“Respect is a two-way street!”

RESPECT is my bus going from 4 min late to 4 early in the last 10 min as I raced to get ready to catch it this morning, going 2 stops, then waiting 5 min for a midroute driver change on my 10 min commute.

Getting a kick out of them trying not to just say "we stole all the elections we can and cannot steal more without very likely, especially given an inevitable population shift brought about by everyone's chambers of commerce to bring in coastal millennials with condo money, losing the whole state"

The IN GOP is too cowardly to just say they reached the zenith of gerrymandering & further map meddling basically guarantees losing the like whole state to the Dems if the wind should blow in even a slightly different direction for just like a long afternoon but I'm not! I'm not cowardly at all!

Here's where that quote that the GOP is pushing came from: yesterday's Ezra Klein podcast. Newsom brought it up unprompted. Doesn't really say what he believes, but seemed to want to get on the record as slightly less antagonistic to trans people.

I know that at least one guy was saying his constituents are against this, and I'm guessing that most constituents anywhere accept Yglesias-Thought and don't read the empirical polisci literature.

So that does seem like a principled stand.

But for the GOP, it's also the self-preserving right one.

At this point, with things so heavily gerrymandered as they are, any new gerrymander works by turning dark red areas pink into order to turn the blue areas pink as well, right?

If I were the IN GOP, I'd want to keep my dark red areas dark red right now.
