i want to believe the US will not let trump get away with saying that the shooter was actually ran over, and injured, and he is in hospital recovering & it is surprising he survived. none of that is even conceivably a bend of the truth, it's just a completely different reality. beyond the pale

Every European country should send troops, at least a few. I'd hope and beg Canada and Japan and Australia and New Zealand and Taiwan too. It's the same logic why we have stationed European troops in the Baltics: raise the price of aggression by increasing the number of countries affected.

Yes! This is so important! Machine Learning is doing wonderful things like mapping Martian craters and analyzing microbe genomes. LLMs are a very specific form & it’s them doing these huge amounts of harm. I also sometimes say “Gen AI”

I'll be frank with you, I don't fuck with GenAI even a little bit. I don't care how fun a game is, if I catch wind that it was used in place of human work I'll drop the whole thing. I dropped Tribes over its AI banners, I dropped The Finals the minute a friend clued me in. Its a line I won't cross.
