I'd like to wish everyone a happy new year. 2025 wasn't the best for me personally so I'm hoping for a better 2026!

I'm certainly not defending the Abd el-Fattah tweets but I really can't stomach the outrage about them from those who also insisted that Lucy Connelly was a heroic martyr for free speech and were equally outraged by her punishment.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

The penny has dropped: Wes Streeting hails 'enormous benefits' of EU membership
Quite simply, the elephant in the room is now being addressed - and Labour Wes Streeting has lambasted the impact of Brexit.

Being of a certain age, many of my family and friends require the services of the NHS - some serious, most routine.
It's noticeable appointments and treatments are now made weeks, not months in advance.
There's a good story here. Just wish Labour would tell it.

So, Budget more positive than I thought it was going to be. Although inevitable, the rises in Tax were delivered relatively fairly. I will say (like a broken record) CGT needs to become significantly closer to the level of income tax.

See my post from a bit back...
pretty much every long-time Labour volunteer I know is seriously considering whether to vote Green or Lib Dem.
It is amazingly horrifying in how little Labour leaders have zero, even negative faith in the values that their party's supposed to stand for. I have the deepest sympathies for the party ground floor workers and supporters who're disgusted by this grotesque betrayal of their values. It's despairing.
