This is why I'm not holding my breath on grocery prices driving republican backlash. Between "Jesus didn't have electricity" and "daddy's home to belt us" commentary it seems like they not only expect to suffer but are ready to frame their acceptance of suffering as a moral virtue.
Just to give y'all an idea of how Trump voters are rationalizing having to pay more due to Tarrifs, a woman said "We were suffering anyway" when I pointed out how the prices of goods will increase.
