The Stephen Fry stuff doesn’t surprise me because I’ve always found him to have the ‘I’m alright Jack’ vibe. Or as my dad used to say ‘he’s a touch of the gobshites about him’. Some people gain empathy for other people from their own struggles. Others, like Fry, are just happy that they’re alright.
