I write stuff sometimes
Someone called Labour “tepid liberals”. It’s a good critique.

I want raucous liberalism. I want liberalism that bounces off the ceilings. I want everyone to have what they need and to be who they are.

I want someone to be big and bold. I don’t want that person to be a fascist.

Man. If I answered that many interview questions with “I’m not familiar with that,” I would not get the job.

Expensive and unreliable train journeys are sadly the norm for many of my constituents - cancellations are disruptive for all of us, but especially disabled people who often have to plan their journeys very carefully. I raised the issue in a debate this morning.

Sometimes wonder if Elon Musk is a (evil) genius.

I love Bluesky - it’s much better than X. But, I’ve spent two days trawling through tweets. That’s where the news is being made!

He’s a lunatic, and his opinions are bad. But, he knows how to keep the spotlight on him.

How do we fight back?

Nothing says “Merry Christmas” like the party of Christians telling 3.5M federal workers they won’t be getting paid because their sugar daddy wants to stop researching pediatric cancer to own the libs.

When Elon Musk becomes lord supreme of planet earth, do you think we’ll get to keep blue sky as a consolation prize? Or will we have twitter surgically injected into our brains?

The whole #President #Elon thing is funny until you realise it’s completely real and not a joke at all

Rent controls aren't just about economic justice, but about disability rights too. Yet the minister 'continued to emphasise that he [has] no desire to even think about capping private rents'.

Read Mikey of @disrightsuk.bsky.social explain why this matters:

Who’s afraid of rent control? Not disabled people
The UK is an outlier in not controlling the private rental market, and disabled people are paying the price, writes Mikey Erhardt, policy and campaigns officer at Disability Rights UK

That’s a sentence I never thought I’d live long enough to say.

The care system in England is in crisis. Fixing the #NHS is impossible without wholesale #socialcare #reform.

We need to fund social care properly, incentivise experts to remain in the sector, properly assess care quality, and provide strong training and career progression opportunities.

Can someone explain to me why #Israel is striking targets in #Syria so soon after the overthrow of Assad? This is not way to foster stability, and help a new government take shape.

Promoting further chaos seems to escalate, not decrease, risk of anti-Israel sentiment.

It seems like the collapse of Assad’s regime in Syria is the most monumental historical event that no one seems to care about.
