At an event last night, an older woman gave me a mix CD she’s been making every year for friends. I find it delightful that someone is still making mix CDs to give to people at dinner parties, and that I am still invited to cute parties.

Went to Port of Entry last night with two of my collaborators with #CultureHouseImmersive - Briana Moten and Justin Beard. Absolutely incredible work by #APTP and #ThirdRailProjects - Waited 3 years to see it, and it was absolutely worth it. Life-changing immersive work.

So weird to attempt to convince someone that donating to a museum is a waste because it might not be on display all the time.
know anything about donating to museums? The stuff may be on display for a few months, but then it gets shoved into boxes and put into storage, never to be seen again. Person * BCMD Yesterday at 5:19 PM If we don't put things into a museum, academics can't study and write about them and they'll be lost I donate things all the time Yesterday at 5:20 PM If you bought everything from 2013 onward, and then bought another collection, you must have a lot of duplicates, no? But also, I just spent about six months in unscathed archives from the 1950s for my tv show going through donated research- and so thankful it was collected and stored for 75 years for me to use I don't have any duplicates- l've given all my dupes away esterday at 5:21 PM Okee-Dokee. During the scene in which the "La Marseillaise" is sung over the German song "Die Wacht am Rhein" ("The Watch on the Rhine"), many of the extras had real tears in their eyes as a large number were actual refugees from Nazi persecution in Germany and elsewhere in Europe and were overcome by the emotions the scene brought out. The scene was inspired by Jean Renoir's La grande illusion (1937), in which French soldiers in a German POW camp sing the song as a similar gesture of defiance. Marcel Dalio, who played Emil the croupier, had also appeared in The Grand Illusion (as Lieutenant Rosenthal). "La Marseillaise" was written in 1792 by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle in Strasbourg after the declaration of war by France against Austria and was originally titled "Chant de guerre pour l'Armée du Rhin" ("War Song for the Rhine Army").

A quick visit to Taliesin West.

No one knows the reason for this, but it is guessed that Frank Lloyd Wright’s wife slept on the left-hand side, and the wall was to stop the noise in the sound of Frank Lloyd Wright working at his desk to the far right The large auditorium stage theater for dancing our performances by Frank Lloyd Wright apprentices. It has a wide red carpet and red curtains and a glass ceiling. The statue of a man shooting an arrow with circular motif around the bow. It is made of copper and sits in the middle of a desert garden. The statue was created by Heloise Crista— a Fellow of Frank Lloyd Wright.
