Time to call a spade a spade. With life's ups and downs, my momentum was killed, my time vanished, and I just don't have the juice to door knock anymore. Going to send thank you notes for those that took the time to talk to me and sign my petition.
My 6YO spotted my Dungeon Keeper game guide and REALLY wanted to play it. I also told him the "mentor" was Richard Ridings, otherwise known as the voice for Daddy Pig.

Richard: Your minions are demanding payment.
6YO: SHUT UP DADDY PIG!!!

Wrapped up Stranger Things Season 5 and got a little teary eyed at the end. While certainly the premise got dragged out, I thought the series was engaging and entertaining. Looking forward to one day rewatching it.

The best part of going to bed is discovering the 4YO has locked the bedroom door as they left it, the lock requires a small screwdriver...inside the locked room, and the only other surfaces you could sleep on had loud notices they won't support a grown adult.

Sleeping on the floor sucks.

As it's January 6 again, some thoughts:
-Donald Trump, with the aid of members of the House and Senate, lied about the 2020 election, incited their followers to violence, and then pretended nothing happened.
-The SCOTUS has made it all but impossible to bring Trump to justice
-America reelected him

Friend got me Pal World for Christmas and enslaving pokemon to automate resource production reached new levels of fucked up when I got technology to allow me to puree pokemon to make my pokemon stronger.

Then I found out I could do all the above to Team Rocket members.

Found out that Jeremie Clament is in the third Avatar movie and imagining him singing the Business Time song at a Navi tribal fire.

Playing Rogue Trader and apparently there was a patch that ensure a bloodthirster didn't materialize on a perils of the warp role during the prologue and naturally my psyker blew up and a bloodthirster appeared in the next fight. Bloodthirsters do not make fights easier.

Just had that joyous moment when the ex-wife realized that because every Wednesday\Thursday is my custody day with my kids and is demanding that, actually, Christmas day is her custody day by right of personal preference. Holidays!

One of my comfort shows is The Good Place. It's funny or it's just background noise while I work. And then I hit the final episode and it just guts me, and I become a crying mess.

E: Love is stronger than anything you can throw at us.

M:...no it's not. Love is stronger than anything I can throw at you? I can throw an elephant at you. YOU THINK A THROWN ELEPHANT WOULDN'T CRUSH YOU BECAUSE OF LOVE?

C: She was speaking metaphorically...

My 6Y0 wanted to watch the entirety of The Ten Commandments (1956) (free on YouTube) after I showed him clips related to a school project. Fun topics from a 6Y0:
-What is slavery?
-What happens when a slave refuses to work?
-Why was Ramesis' betrothed necking with Moses problematic?

My 6YO son's school is doing a world religions unit covering the Abrahamic faiths and he was talking to me about Pharaoh and Moses. I reward him by showing him clips from The Ten Commandments (1956). He asked me why Pharoah had his shirt off.

I lied and told him because it's warm in Egypt.

For Stranger Things, the "these actors are not kids" observation really hit home when Erica (Lucas's smart-ass little sister) made her appearance, and I looked her up, and she's 19.

I do not envy the headache you will have when you awake. But for now, rest well and dream of large women, Charlie Brown.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain, Charlie Brown.

My 6YO kid is learning about Macedonia, so I decided to read him the epic of Gilgamesh.

The goddess Ishtar propositions Gilgamesh to go to pound down...graphically...and Gilgamesh turns her down...explicitly.

Imagine if Aphrodite offered Paris sex and he declined and called her a proxied whore.

@titonka.bsky.social I understand this is a tricky professional matter to address, but she lies to you, insults your peers, and openly displays contempt for your profession. What is the net positive in attending these?
Q: What did the president mean when he called a reporter "piggy"?

LEAVITT: Look, the president is very frank & honest with everyone in this room. You'll all seen it yourself. You've all experienced it yourselves. And I think it's one of the many reasons the American people reelected this president

Why didn't Democrats request the Epstein files released in 2021?

Kind of busy rounding up and punishing January 6 traitors.

Got to see Predator: Badlands and found it charming, funny, with good action and musical score. It expands the franchise with the societal lore of the Predators and continues to underline the immorality of Weyland-Yutani.

It's also PG-13 and light on the foundational violence of the franchise.

Just to have something to say that isn't politics, I got to watch the Del Toro Frankenstein movie and it was:
1) Aesthetically very Del Toro. Grotesque and colorful.
2) Acting and music were great.
3) Story-wise, it was the book and a touch of what we have in other movies.

My uber religious cousin is posting on Facebook about how "they" killed Charlie Kirk and dark "forces" wanted him dead.

I clarified that one specific person killed Kirk, and did so for articulable reasons.

The correction was not well received.
