I often despair at how often the concepts of "the economy" and public finance get mixed up. That's one reason I made this: hahmota.fi/economymap/
Economy Map
The Economy Map provides an overview of a country's economy.

Looks quite interesting.
"Collective coordination" as state where unspecialized cells coordinate behavior through distributed signaling before specialized tissues like the brain can emerge.

Public infra ddos is less random now
Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.

SFI External Professor Juan Pérez-Mercader and colleagues recreated a “primordial pond” in the lab. When energized, it formed micrometer-scale structures that make and replicate their own parts. They note that the behavior they observed could be the essential step that preceded life on Earth.

ANSWER: 0 (yes, ZERO!)

This is a result of an analysis done by a student in my grad seminar, using a large dataset (N=307,313).

What this result might mean: Nobody's personality is truly "average," and people's personality profiles (at least Big 5) might be more "jagged" than we think.

(🧵 1/5)
Imagine you have Big 5 personality scores from over 300,000 people. You designate the scores in the "mean +/- 0.25 SDs" range for each trait (~20%) as the average range.

QUESTION: How many people in this >300K sample do you think fall in the average range for ALL 5 TRAITS?

What's your answer?

How come prompts are better structured than any documentation given to humans? Plenty of effort and attention goes there

Anyhow that's a positive change with LLM use, people are learning to provide context, alignment and expectations for any task.
