I studied (and have worked in since) music, but if I had the opportunity to go back to studying seriously, I’d love to delve into media studies. It’s so important for understanding and interpreting what we’re told but in factual media and via fiction.

Sunk cost theory though: the further they go down the path the harder it is to turn back because all the time and resources poured into banning Link and defending the ban can’t be recouped. It looks like they’re suppressing the words “free” and “link” and the #FreeLink hashtag now too.

Why is it always the brown people who are expected to integrate into white communities? Why isn’t the onus on white people to be more welcoming and respectful? Why demand integration at all? The people we demand that of have to give up some of their culture and identity in order to integrate.
