I'm old enough to remember this was the sell out track like it was so scandalous they had a release that got more air than a typical act of that sort

There's a reason Wolfenstein games have historically done pretty good unless they're the dogshit one with the kids and that's it's fun to redact Nazis

The Portland Frog was out and when interviewed he said the pepper spray tasted like peppermint and that he's had spicier since he's Mexican.

"The Eldar knew not whence [Ungoliant] came; but some have said that in ages long before she descended from the darkness that lies about Arda, when Melkor first looked down in envy upon the Kingdom of Manwë..."

"Where'd that big fucking spider come from. Shit. Look at that thing. Jesus Christ"

I do not like it. Too much of the New Testament has direct metaphors referencing OT and that meaning gets lost if you start changing words up and simply trying rework the sentence does not capture what is being said.

"We can hear the rebs in the trenches across no man's land. The worst memes to ever grace this fallen world, repeated verbatim. A boy was laying in the field after being felled by rifles, screaming about the sigma grindset before the animals came."

John Fetterman represents an incredibly important and underserved demographic. Future family annihilators have long been ignored by those in power. That ends now.

There is a theological argument in Christianity about sainthood based on Luke 23:43 that revolves around where a comma goes in the sentence because Koine Greek did not have punctuation. It's not like super serious but it reaffirms my point that words and structure actually matter in things.

Luke 21:27 so same passage but MSG (The Message a horseshit translation)

"And then—then!—they’ll see the Son of Man welcomed in grand style—a glorious welcome! When all this starts to happen, up on your feet. Stand tall with your heads high. Help is on the way!"

These two passages are not the same

Luke 21:27 KJV

"And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory."

This is a direct reference to David and the metaphor of coming in a cloud referring to the ultimate sovereignty of God.

This reminds me of when I worked in a Christian church supply store and they had all these translations I had never heard of that are geared to like a 2nd grade reading level never mind that the words in the Bible have literary significance and theological repercussions.

I can’t think of a clever caption for this. It just breaks my fucking heart.
A sponsored at for Magibook, an app that “turns hard books into easy books.” Shown is The Great Gatsby, and a not-at-all hard passage that has been dumbed down into non-existence. We’re so doomed.

So cool that whenever someone asks the president, “did you eat the Lindbergh baby” he’s like, “no but I’d be allowed to, I have the right to, I might do it later”

Bari Weiss, the incoming editor in chief of CBS News, once auditioned for a role on the hit daytime television show "The View," but tested so poorly with audiences that she "wasn't invited back," according to a new report.
