Aspiring author, relapsed musical theater kid, and a kinky bisexual polyamorous public defender. Also possibly just three aliens in a skirt suit.

My clients and coworkers don’t call me Cassie, but the rest of you should.

I swear it’s like I got possessed and I finally put into writing things that I have needed to but not been ready to. I know what prompted it, but I don’t know why now compared to any other time. I do feel better now though.

Motivation is a funny thing. I try and work with the natural instincts of whatever is going on in my brain to fuel my goals. Today it’s spite.

Even with broad public support, no major museum has taken up the genocide in Gaza. No large institution I know of has put on an exhibition about Palestinian artists or Palestinian lives.

Propagandist for the greatest explosion of Nazism in American history doubles down on insisting Nazis be given air time on "60 Minutes" to spread lies about the people they kidnapped, tortured, and sent to concentration camps.
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

Juror #2 is copaganda drivel. What a poorly written waste of great actors and cinematography.
December 24, 2025 at 12:52 AM
I can’t keep watching this, these jurors are breaking so many rules, and while I hope that’s “the point” this is too much for me to keep suffering through.

Now they’re roasting the defense attorney and revealing in deliberations he’s a public defender and that’s why he was bad??? Fuck that shit.
December 24, 2025 at 12:33 AM
Like I think this movie is meant to be about the internal conflict of the main character and interpersonal aspects of jury deliberation, but all I can think about is how terrible of a job his defense attorney did.

I cannot watch courtroom dramas. A lawyer “objected” and the judge overruled it before they could offer the basis?!? And don’t get me started on the narrative responses.

Well, I'm not particularly influential, but I tried. If I got it to even one extra person who wouldn't have seen it otherwise, that's a win.

People have historically, and rightfully, seen the evil of Guantanamo, Abu Gharib, and now CECOT for what it is, but I wish more people would also see the evil in our domestic prisons too. How we treat our most vulnerable, including prisoners, really sets the tone for our whole society.
I don’t mean to sound extreme, but I don’t think we should have torture camps for people with criminal records either.
