Even with all the migraine pain because of the April showers, I somehow managed to continue reading. Not as aggressively as I was in January, but I’ve almost finished 3 books🤗

As a chronically ill girlie it always feels like a let down to not meet my goals due to my health.. But I’m trying to remind myself that despite being in a horrible 3 month flare I finished a book in February!! And I started 2 more! This isn’t a failure—it’s a win. #chronicilleness #booksky

Four chapters into Wedding People by Alison Espach and something about it is captivating… it’s so honest about feeling depressed, loss, love, and numb. I’m fully transfixed—just staring at the audiobook cover… I haven’t felt this way since Grace Year. #booksky

All I want to do is read… but the second I sit down to read I suddenly don’t feel like reading?🤷🏻‍♀️

Knot My Type by Evie Mitchell was the perfect lighthearted read during a horrible chronic illness flare-up. Reading about someone who was unashamed of their disability and confident in who they were helped me not focus on my faults while being stuck in bed.

Only a couple chapters into Knot My Type but it’s so refreshing. It almost made me cry when her wheelchair movement was described because it made me feel validated💕 #booksky #wheelchair #disability

while The Horrors persist, let us celebrate less horrors overall…. because all three mega fires in Los Angeles are finally 100% contained!!

Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver was almost my 1st 2025 DNF. I thought I felt the misunderstanding trope creeping up at 70%… I was wrong! I am so glad that I didn’t DNF. 100% recommend the voice duo of Lucy Rivers and Joe Arden. (Review trigger warnings before reading) #booksky #bookreview

I may have my first dnf of the year… I just can’t handle the misunderstanding trope anymore #booktok #darkromance

I look at my TBR pile and then go… well they’ve waited this long they can wait longer. And I buy a new book that fits my current vibe✌🏼

I’m ~1 hour into Butcher and Blackbird and I’m loving the Dexter vibes. Lucy Rivers and Joe Arden might be the best audiobook voice duo I’ve ever heard😍

If the rest of the series is this addicting and emotion eliciting I will be DEVOURING this series. Zodiac Academy is living up to the hype—and I’m not typically a bully romance girl🤷🏻‍♀️

PREACH🙌🏻 I only ever ADD to my Jane Austen stash😤❤️
I’m planning to go through my bookshelves soon but just know, the 3 (maybe 4) copies I have of Pride & Prejudice won’t be going anywhere, I need all of them. #booksky

Indie, disabled, and diverse authors are so special. While some very popular books can have such an incredible voice (Hunger Games🙌🏻), a lot are cookie cutter bs. I will always love the booktok that I was a part of because it gave a voice to so many people that would have been overlooked otherwise.
all the #BookTok slander I’ve been seeing the past few days by other bookish communities is quite frustrating ngl. While yes, the most popular side of BookTok definitely has its issues, the side I was on always recommended diverse books and championed marginalized authors. #diversebooks

Found it, courtesy of @Kim_Kimchii on Tiktok, looks like they've also updated it to show books that have been historically challenged and possible bans
