People should have realized this, but Bluesky's culture of alt-text shaming has nothing to do with accessibility or disability justice, and is simply theater, a way for people to feel like they're doing something without giving the issue thought.

If someone tells me that they don't do alt text because they don't care about accessibility, that will definitely negatively affect my opinion of them. But I think the BSky culture of demanding alt text leans too hard on assuming that as the reason and in doing so it harms other disabled people.
