I’ve changed my header photo to this one. It shows my father Herbert and his sister Lotte with their parents Fritz and Marta in their Frankfurt apartment before Herbert and Lotte were sent to England on the Kindertransport, and later Fritz and Marta transported to Lodz Ghetto, final fate unknown.

Once again, "we should raise tariffs on all goods to insane levels" is one of Trump's only consistent econ policies, but everyone with basic knowledge knows that's a moronic idea, which leads to Trump staffers repeatedly sanewashing it, only for Trump to go "no I want the insane version"

'where do key US political and economic actors actually get their information from' is a deeply understudied issue, because the real answer is largely through an oral culture, not literature
Re: consensus types & looking to their peers, I feel like a lot of folks who have not worked in the corporate exec world don’t realize that 95% of the information these guys act on comes from their golf buddies
they thought it was going to be Trump 1 and they are mostly deeply consensus types, so they're looking to their peers now to see whether they should say anything or not and nobody wants to be the first actor. plus many of them are excited about getting to grope secretaries again.
