Thinking of all the times I was assumed to be a drug smuggler going through Customs merely because I was travelling while black and meanwhile Musk can go full Nazi and gets defended as “awkward”. No wonder white supremacists are desperate to hang onto white privilege, it must feel like a superpower.

This is heart-breaking, and makes me so damn angry.
This is happening to thousands of people fighting for their lives because in real life, government does a lot of good and important shit.

I’m going to talk about pages 11, 12, and 13 of this brief in depth, because that is the part where the Trump DOJ tries to defend the Trump Executive Order.

The lawyers here so deeply misrepresent some of the cited material that it should be cause for sanctions in any just world.

FYI — Here is the filing DOJ submitted overnight opposing the Washington-led plaintiffs' TRO request: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Think back a lot to how Tom Daschle told Obama before he was inaugurated that no Republican Senators would ever vote for healthcare reform and then Senate Dems spent like a year begging for GOP votes and watering down their legislation in the attempt and then it got no GOP votes.

Yes.
"Behind the scenes there does need to be rethinking of the Democratic agenda. But for now Democrats need to oppose. They should read up on the Lincoln of the 1850s not the 1860s; on the Churchill of the 1930s not the 1940s; on the Havel of the 1980s not the 1990s."

Dems Don’t Have to Inspire, They Have to Oppose

Again, the perceived need for pre-emptive pardons is a clear sign that the constitutional order has already failed & we have already experience significant democratic backsliding
I do not like the idea of preemptive pardons so people who have not been accused or convicted of crimes don't have to fight off political enemies. Preemptive pardons will be used to excuse enormous wrongdoing over time if normalized, with friends & family of presidents getting a full legal pass.

Definitely getting what they voted for.
Trump has rescinded Biden’s Executive Order 14087, “Lowering Prescription Drug Costs for Americans,” which included things like lowering state Medicaid costs for the most expensive therapeutics, reducing Medicare payments for proven drugs, and creating a flat, $2 Medicare copay for generic drugs
Trump’s initial orders reverse Biden on health care costs, protections from discrimination
Trump's executive orders took aim at Biden's priorities, from drug pricing to gender discrimination.

Hey y'all!

After some repartee and chuckles here, after going out in the bracing cold to drop the cat droppings in the garage and pick up the paper, I'm feeling surprisingly positive.

Difficult times are coming, but we will get through and perhaps even win.

Would you rather have:
• Fantastic UI BUT bad functionality
OR
• Perfectly functioning system BUT looks like Windows 97?

Tough call, right? Let’s hear your thoughts! Hmmmmmm? 🤔
