This probably sounds like a banal observation, but I can't stress how big of a difference there is between eating food and *tasting* food -- between shoveling it into your mouth as a pure function, or being aware of scent and texture and sensations on your tongue. You're missing out!

I've never understood the "make content 'safe' for advertisers" mentality. What do they actually get from erasing content? Wouldn't more content equal more transactions and thus more money for those who facilitate it?
Valve just updated their Steam rules to ban content that “may violate rules set by payment processors or banks.” Sounds boring. It’s not. It’s the quiet normalization of financial censorship and it’s going to hurt LGBTQ+ games and devs

Learning that being trans doesn't always mean being hyper-feminine. I once had this weird 'I'm-not-like-other-guys' complex. What I really wanted was to be a pretty woman who can rock both a sleek suit or a Victorian-esque gown

Another thing: ICE agents are a cowardly lot. They're grown-up schoolyard bullies who want to feel powerful but crack with the slightest resistance. Every protest not only makes their jobs harder, we make ICE less attractive to its target hiring demographic. Constant public opposition is key here
With the awful news from the last couple hours, this post from the political optimism subreddit helped to break through a bit of the despair fog. Repubs know this is political suicide, ICE's support is crumbling despite the budget increase, and there's a myriad of ways to fight back. Keep strong.

"they're just gonna use this as an excuse to crack down harder" yeah just like when you finally stood up to your childhood bully and got in trouble for it because he cried. you kinda had to do it anyway though. not just to prove to everyone else that you could fight back, but to prove it to yourself
